What Kind Of People Does God Use?

What kind of people does God use? From a human point of view, people would think it would be people with a lot of talent or people who are super intelligent, have great leadership skills, or people who are well educated and have many college degrees, or people who are popular and well liked by everyone in the world.  But the truth is, that is not the kind of people God uses at all. God would rather use people who are weak in themselves to do mighty things for him so that he gets all the glory.  It is when people know that they can't do it, but God can.  You see, when we are weak, God works through us so that whatever is done is done all to the glory of God.
I Corinthians 1:27: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.
People who are weak have to rely on God's power to do anything for him.  They know that without Christ they can do nothing.
John 15:5: I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.  This means that the only way our lives can be fruitful and be useful to God is if we are abiding in Jesus, and the only way to be abiding in Jesus is by reading his word, meditating on it, and praying. Even Jesus said he could do nothing without abiding in the Father.
John 5:19: Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

The bible says that we cannot serve God with our own human ability, but that we need God's ability to serve him effectively.  I Peter 4:11: If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
When we are serving God through the ability that God alone gives us, then God gets all the praise and glory for it because without him it could not even be possible.  Along the same line is that our sufficiency comes only from God; without him we can do nothing.
II Corinthians 3:5: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

The bible says that the apostle Paul, who was a mighty and Holy Spirit filled man of God, was given a thorn in the flesh, meaning some physical weakness or problem with his body, in order to keep him humble and relying on God.  The passage is in II Corinthians chapter 12:
II Corinthians 12:7: And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
8: For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9: And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.  Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10: Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
Notice how it says when we are weak is when we are strong. You see God uses weak people to be used of him so he can get all the glory.  By our own self we can do nothing for God, but through the power of Jesus the bible says we can do all things.
Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
In fact, the bible even says through Jesus we can do the same works that he did and even greater works than he did. That is hard to believe, but that is what the bible says.
John 14:12: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.  Jesus is in heaven with God the Father, but we are still here on earth and we have God's word to tell us how to be fruitful and used of God. Also, the bible says that with God all things are possible.
Mark 10:27: And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

Being close to Jesus is the only way for God to use you to do mighty works for him, and the way to be close to him is by meditating on the word of God.  Peter and John were Jesus' disciples and apostles that were greatly used of God, and the bible says it was because they had been with Jesus.
Acts 4:13: Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
You see Peter and John did not have college degrees or anything like that, but they were greatly used of God, because that is the kind of people God uses.  They were bold witnesses for Jesus, not because of being super intelligent or having a lot of education, but because they had been with Jesus.  They were filled with the Holy Spirit and God used them to get many souls saved.  That is the most important thing you could ever do with your life, to be used of God to keep souls out of hell.

The Lamb's Book Of Life

The Lamb's Book Of Life

There is a hymn that I love that goes like this, "There's a new name written down in glory and it's mine oh yes it is mine." But actually our name has always been written in the book of life, but the moment we got saved it was sealed in there for good and can never be blotted out because we have been given eternal life and eternal means forever. What a great and marvelous thing to have your name written down in the Lamb's book of life, the forever and ever.  Revelation 3:5: He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. In Revelation chapter 21 which is talking about heaven, it says in Revelation 21:27: And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.  Jesus even tells us to rejoice because our names are written in heaven. Luke 10:19: Behold, I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20: Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Since the bible teaches that every single person at one time had their name written in the book of life, that proves that God wants everyone to be saved, and that Jesus did die for every person.
The bible even says in 2 Peter 3:9: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Many people have gotten saved right before they die.  For example the thief on the cross who looked to Jesus for salvation right before he died.  Luke 23:42: And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. 43: And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.  I know someone who got saved just a few days before dying from cancer.

God is patient and longsuffering, but there comes a time when it is too late to get saved. We know for a certainty that if someone dies without Christ it is definitely too late, but also it is too late for some people even before they die.  When the time comes that it is too late for someone to get saved, that is when their name is blotted out of the book of life.

There are people who have crossed a line and their name is blotted out of the book of life and they can never be saved.  For example if a person has heard the gospel many, many times and has been under conviction of the Holy Ghost of their need to accept Christ and believe on him and yet keep rejecting him and saying no and have hardened their heart, the bible says that God's spirit shall not always strive with man, Genesis 6:3: And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man.. . That is why it says in Hebrews 6:4: For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5: And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come
6: If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.  This passage is not talking about people losing their salvation because the bible is very clear that we cannot ever lose our salvation, but this is talking about people who were so close to getting saved that they actually tasted of the word of God, but then rejected the Lord for the last and final time and then God has hardened their heart and they can never be saved, it says it is impossible.

Also, John chapter 12 talks about God hardening some people's hearts.  John 12:37: But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:
38: That the saying of Esais the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
39: Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
40: He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
This is again an instance where people saw the miracles that Jesus did and still did not believe in him, so God hardened their hearts and now it is impossible for them to believe.

John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. So this makes it plain that whoever believes in him will be saved, but once people cross a line and have hardened their heart they CANNOT believe, so therefore they cannot be saved and it is too late for them.  Their name is blotted out of the book of life even before their their physical death.

One of the signs that a person has hardened their heart against God so that they can never be saved are sodomites (homosexuals).  The bible says in Romans chapter one that God gave up on them and has rejected them, and so their name is definitely blotted out of the book of life.  The word reprobate means rejected, so when the bible says God gave them over to a reprobate mind, that means he has rejected them and it is too late for them to ever be saved.  (Romans 1:28 below)

Romans 1:26: For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28: And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.

Another reason for someone having their name blotted out of the book of life is someone who tampers with God's Word, like taking parts out or adding things to it.
Revelation 22:18: For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

God's word is perfect and complete the way he wrote it, and God doesn't take it lightly when people change it.  God only wrote one book, and so corrupting God's Word is a very serious thing, and whoever does so will not ever have a chance to get saved as it says in Rev. 22:19: God shall take away his part out of the book of life.  Most all the corrupt bible versions completely take out entire verses and all totally change verses so that it means something entirely different than the KJV. So people who do the corrupting and perverting of God's Word can never be saved; they have lost their chance; it's too late. That means all the people who had part in the writing of  the NIV, ESV, ASV, NKJV, and all the other corrupt bible versions are definitely going to hell because they have added and taken out parts of God's holy word.

Another reason for a person to have their name blotted out of the book of life is someone who perverts the gospel.  In Galations chapter one it says the following:
Galations 1:6: I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8: But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9: As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
If they are accursed that means they are condemned and damned to hell forever because they have perverted the gospel.
Ways the gospel can be perverted include the following:
1.  Adding repenting of your sins to the gospel.
2.  Adding works to the gospel. Some people will say you have to believe in Christ and do this or do that, live a good life, etc.  The gospel is only by free grace by the shed blood of Christ, plus nothing or minus nothing.  It's faith alone period.
3.  Saying you can lose your salvation (which is in essence saying that God is a liar since he said he would give us eternal life and eternal means forever.

Another reason that someone may have their name blotted out of the book of life is for blaspheming the Holy Ghost.
Mark 3:29: But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
Luke 12:10: And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.
Mark 3:28: Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
29: But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
30: Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

So blaspheming the Holy Ghost is when people see the great works of the Lord through the Holy Spirit and then call it an unclear spirit.  In another place in the bible when Jesus was doing miracles and casting out devils from people, the Pharisees accused  him of being the prince of the devils, which is also blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 9:33: And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
34: But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.
Matthew 12:24: But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
Notice how it says all sins and blasphemies that people blaspheme shall be forgiven; it is only the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost that shall not be forgiven.  So if someone blasphemes the Holy Ghost, God says he is done, his name is blotted out of the book of life right then and there.

Once someone believes on Christ for salvation, their name will be in the Lamb's Book of Life forever and can never be blotted out because salvation is eternal.  That is why Jesus said to rejoice that your name is written down in heaven.  Luke 10:20: Notwithingstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
Revelation 3:5: He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.  Praise the Lord, my name is written in the Lamb's book of life and can never be crossed out.

So what should we do to reach people with the gospel.  We should give the gospel to as many people as we can while there is still hope for them to get saved, either before they harden their heart against God and the gospel or before they die and go out into eternity unprepared and lost forever.

God's Simple Plan Of Salvation
